Purlez-vous?

Purlez-vous2, originally uploaded by needlesinthehay.

After the serious craziness of Garden Show weekend (where I saw more people in a weekend than I probably see in a whole year!) I’m ready for some seriously laid-back knitting time.

So I give you: Purlez-Vous? the new knitting night here on Tuesdays. It’s going to be very casual, bring whatever project you’re working on, grab a beverage from Dreams of Beans around the corner if you want!

And please excuse the fact that “Purlez-vous” is, yes, an unabashed use of franglish! It’s a take on “Parlez-vous…” which is “Do you speak” which, when I use it, is often to say “Parlez-vous anglais?” (aka “do you speak english?”) which is the question I usually resort to after completely butchering some perfectly good sentence from a trusty english/french dictionary, most likely in Montreal trying to purchase poutine or something… mmm… poutine… So, I offer my apologies to those of you who *do* speak french and are shaking your collective head at my use of total non-words!

So whaddya say? Come by Tuesday, chill out, knit a few rows, meet some fellow knitters (and crocheters!)…

I don’t know which I love more about this poster.

    The awesome Franglais pun?
or the phrase “beginner-friendly and crochet approved”
