socks + shoes

Pair number two – DONE! No, I’m not actually wearing the shoes today, I just had to, you know, try them on with the socks… make sure they fit and look nice and such… I’m very pleased with these socks, knit with the Fleece Artist Nyoni. The yarn was nicer to work with than I was anticipating, and the pattern is very well written and easy to work. The heel flap looks quite long on the socks, but they fit really well, so I assume this is a deliberate design feature (probably employed so that the leaf pattern that wraps around each side isn’t pulled out of line)…

I’ve figured out that if I want to finish my fourteen pairs of socks by September I’ll have to commit to one pair per week every week all summer. Um, which sounds a little daunting! One pair in two weeks is a casual pace… one pair in a week and a half is a bit of a push. One pair in a week? Well, we’ll see with this next pair, Marlene by Cookie A. in Malabrigo Sock yarn, colourway “Boticelli Red”… Here we go!!

I love the “V” detail in the socks and how it falls just below the ankle straps in your shoes -lovely!
