New Things!

Tons of new periodicals plus some pretty new yarn to boot!

Interweave Knits Winter 2014, Crochet Accessories 2013, Piecework, Jane Austen Knits 2013, KnitWear Winter, Knitscene Winter, and two new pattern books from Berroco: Norah Gaugan vol. 13 and His & Hers Classics (I love so many sweaters in this book!!)

Island by Jane Richmond, Knitbot Essentials by Hannah Fetig, Handmade in the UK by Tin Can Knits, Playful Woolly Toppers by Woolly Wormhead, Botanical Knits by Alana Dakos, Flying V’s and Leethal Quick Knits by Lee Meredith, and the Fall 2013 issue of Pompom Quarterly!

Fleece Artist Blue Face Leicester (BFL) Sock yarn! A nice woolly alternative to merino-base sock yarns, equally nice for socks or for colourwork projects (I ordered some undyed skeins, shown bottom left, just in case! The undyed + the dark chocolate/black variegated would work terrifically well for Adrian Bizilia’s Squirrel Sampler Mittens).

Fleece Artist BFL 2/8, a heavy lace-weight perfect for the cold months ahead (two of these would make an excellent Barley Sugar cowl, by Ysolda Teague, don’t you think? Brioche Stitch seems to be all the rage this fall!)

Fleece Artist Thrum Mitten Kits in assorted fun colours!

And some beginner rug hooking kits, complete with hook, hoop, yarn, an easy design drawn on coaster-size burlap, and instructions! One more session of Margot’s Beginner Rug Hooking class has been scheduled for Thursday, December 12th, from 7 – 9 p.m., so all of you who couldn’t make it to the Saturday classes, this is your shot!
