SweetGeorgia & Thanksgiving LYS Update

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, the Christmas knitting season is about to go into full swing. We’ve been doing our best to make sure the store is stocked up with lots of great options to choose from for your new projects.

Please note: The store will be open on Saturday October 8, 2016 from 11am to 4pm (regular hours). We will be closed on Sunday October 9 and Monday October 10, reopening for regular hours on Tuesday October 11.

We’re very proud to announce that we are now a stockist for SweetGeorgia Yarns. Founded in 2005, SweetGeorgia Yarns is an artisan hand-dyed yarn company based in Vancouver, Canada. They’re known for their passionate, relentless, and unapologetic love of colour. Right now we have Tough Love Sock in 20 amazing colourways. Given the amount of excitement already, it looks like Sweet Georgia will be a regular fixture.

The wonderful ladies at Ambrosia Yarns have brought in a nice selection of their Woolen worsted line in sweater lots and have also included some bright mini skeins to had a pop of colour. This yarn gives you oodles of yardage (350 yards in the 114g ball!) and makes a perfect substitute for Brooklyn Tweed’s Shelter. I’ve been dreaming about using it to make Norah Gaughan’s Mohr cardigan which is featured in the new Brooklyn Tweed Fall collection.

This fall, Diamond Luxury released a new product, Cardiff Cashmere, a 100% cashmere fingering that feels just like petting a kitten. This yarn would be amazing for a cowl, or hat or anything worn around the neck or face.

We’ve also recently received some beautiful new colourways from Malabrigo Rios, and Ancient Arts Reinvent.

Last but certainly not least, yesterday at “Purlez-vous?” Marit dropped off some brand new skeins of Gobstoppers in Merino DK, Merino Fingering, Four Quarter, and Heavylace.

Happy knitting and crocheting, and have a great Thanksgiving weekend!
