We'll use Kate Davies' engaging and deceptively simple Footfall Shawl pattern to learn the foundational skills of lace knitting and top down triangular shawl shaping. The class is a hands-on learning experience with lots of time for knitting together. You'll leave us with your lace shawl project well on the way.
Pre-requisites: This class is designed for adventurous beginners wanting to learn something new, or more advanced knitters who have never tried lace patterns before. Participants must be comfortable with casting-on, knitting, purling, and binding-off.
Materials: Not included. Bring or Buy
- Footfall Shawl Pattern
- 355 yards of Aran or Heavy Worsted weight yarn (this is usually 2-3 skeins)
- One, 6mm circular needle at least 24" in length (32" is ideal). We recommend ChiaoGoo Red Lace. The sharp tips are very helpful.
- Two different styles or colours of stitch markers.
- Tapestry needle
