A perfect blend of warmth and strength to make a hard wearing sock yarn that can stand up to your affection and abuse. Tough Love Sock knits up beautifully into fine-gauge sweaters, small shawls, as well as socks! Spun from 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon, this 3-ply yarn is so versatile — knit it firmly for hard wearing socks, knit it loosely for drapey shawls, or knit it doubled for a great worsted weight substitute.
Fibre: 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon Gauge: 8 sts = 1" Recommended Needle: US 0-1 | 2-2.25mm Yardage: 425 yards (388 meters) Weight: Fingering Weight , 115g Care: Machine washable, gente cycle, cold water, do not tumble.
Fingering-weight Loft channels Targhee-Columbia wool’s airy bounce into feather-light lace, accessories, and garments. Like Shelter, Loft is a woolen-spun 2-ply yarn with delicate twist, specially designed for unique lightness of hand. It’s not a sock yarn, so treat it a little more gently when it’s on the winder and the needles. Once your garment is blocked, the stitches will cohere in a beautifully even and sturdy fabric. Lace garments should open up to reveal stitch motifs with relatively mild blocking. Loft has great flexibility of gauge; it can be knit on 2mm (US 0) needles for a dense and durable fabric or on 4mm (US 6) needles for ethereal open work. Two strands of Loft held together can substitute for Shelter in patterns where you’d like greater stitch definition or a marled fabric of two colors.
Fibre: 100% Wyoming-grown Targhee-Columbia wool Gauge: 6 to 8 sts = 1" Recommended Needle: 2mm to 3.5mm Yardage: 275 yards Weight: approx. 50 grams | fingering weight Care: Hand wash, lay flat to dry
Peerie is worsted-spun fingering weight yarn that was built for fine gauge fabrics and colourwork. The extensive palette of 45 painterly colors provides inspiration for projects small and large.
Brooklyn Tweed sourced pure Merino from Nevada and Utah — their finest fibre yet at 20.5 microns. Fabrics made from Peerie feel soft and supple against the skin.
The worsted-spun construction aligns the fibers horizontally to create a smooth yarn with just the right amount of twist and a perfect amount of bounce as you work. The 4-ply structure means textured stitches and lace sing as they are worked to create a fabric with excellent drape and stitch definition.
Skein-dyed in Maine, this yarn launches with 45 colors, about half of which are shared with Brooklyn Tweed's other worsted-spun core yarns, Arbor and Vale.
