A Quick & Cozy KAL

A Quick & Cozy KAL

Hey everyone, Deanna here. This fall we had two goals for updating the shop in anticipation for knitting season. The first one was to rejuvenate our sock yarn collection in August. In September, we made it our mission to completely overhaul our Aran to Bulky weight yarns. I am so thrilled about the results – gorgeous new yarns from Blue Sky Fibers, Malabrigo, The Fibre Co, and more.

I’m excited to share some of these new yarns with a Quick and Cozy Knit Along. The patterns I’ve selected knit up fast, are super comfy, and not too complicated. In fact, I’ve already knit THREE out of the Four of these projects within the last 6 weeks or so. The samples are available in the shop for you to visit. The Ullock cardigan has been a particular star so far, few can resist its soft and cozy charm. There are lots of great options here for a first sweater project.

To make things a bit more interesting, we’re including a prize this time around! Everybody who completes their Knit along project by the Cast-off date of November 17 will be entered into a draw to win an entire bag of ten skeins of Malabrigo Worsted in the VAA colourway. In order to qualify for the draw, take the following steps:

  • Purchase your yarn through our shop, either online or in person.
  • Sign-on to the KAL either by showing up on October 6 for the cast-on, OR by posting a photo of your cast-on to Instagram and tagging @needlesinthehay and #NITHKAL
  • Show up on November 17 with your completed project, OR post a photo on Instagram wearing your completed project and tag @needlesinthehay and #NITHKAL

Meet-up Dates:
Set-up & Cast-on October 6 – 1pm to 3pm
Progress Check-in on October 20 – 1pm to 3pm
Progress Check-in on November 3 – 1pm to 3pm
Cast-off & Show-off on November 17 – 1pm to 3pm

My sister was planning to knit this little sweater in Quarry and I was looking at the pattern and realized it is also recommended for Malabrigo chunky! This guy has been hot on Ravelry lately and is a great compliment to high waisted trousers or a dress. Takes 5 to 9 skeins of Malabrigo chunky on 6.5mm needles.
