An Atmosphere KAL with the Fibre Co Cirro

Hi Everybody, Deanna here. It’s been a bit of a strange start to the fall knitting season. Most of our plans have been “re-arranged” because of the pandemic, so we’re announcing our fall KAL a few weeks later than we thought we’d be.

The good news is that we have a dreamy collection in a super soft and fluffy new yarn, Cirro, to comfort us.

Soft, light and romantic, Atmosphere is a six-piece sweater collection designed to celebrate the launch of The Fibre Co.’s new yarn, Cirro. In this collection, you will find delicate lace, elegant detailing and easy, voluminous silhouettes that look just as special with jeans as they do with a party dress.

Cirro is a sport weight yarn that combines the long lustrous Suri alpaca fibre with Merino wool. The brushed effect is created by wrapping this blend around an organic cotton binder thread to achieve a light and airy yarn perfectly balanced for body and drape. Cirro creates a delightfully soft haloed fabric that is light as a feather and easily worn next to the skin. Since it is so light, 50g goes a long way in Cirro and the sweaters are quite reasonably priced given how luxurious the yarn is.

Sounds pretty perfect doesn’t it? The sweaters are gorgeous and there is something or everyone.

The “official” cast on date for this KAL, will be Friday October 29, but feel free to start whenever you like!

If you finish your project (finished means blocked!) by Dec 31 AND post a photo on Instagram tagging @needlesinthehay and using the hashtags #NITHKAL and #madewiththefibreco, you will be entered into a draw to win a $75 gift card!

Grace is going to be the “Head Knitter” on this KAL, and will be providing updates on her version of the Chasma cardigan which she is making with Cirro in the colourway “Pure” and Road to China Light in “Hematite”. For those who are interested in making Chasma, we area recommending RTC light or Meadow held double as the second yarn you use to reinforce the cuffs.
