Bricks and Mortar Shop Closed until further notice

Hi Everyone,

I hope you’re all keeping well and taking care of yourselves and each other during these strange times with the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, I have made the difficult decision to close the shop indefinitely. All classes, social gatherings and knit doctor sessions are postponed until further notice. We will provide a store credit to all class registrants for a future workshop.

I care deeply about the health and well-being of my employees, clients, friends and neighbours and couldn’t justify any other course of action. While it will be tough to continue paying the bills, I have faith that we will make it through to the other side.

While many of us are self-isolating and practicing social distancing, I’m sure we will turn to our hobbies, including knitting and crochet to bring some calm and comfort during a stressful time. We’re taking steps to make sure you still have access to amazing yarn and supplies. Heck! We completely re-redesigned our website thanks to the consulting help of my friend Amy E. LeClair Graphic Design and Brand Studio.

Here’s the knitty gritty:

-Our online shop remains open 24 hours a day. All orders placed by 3pm EDT will be shipped/delivered on the same day (except on weekends).

-We have added a free local delivery option to our shipping. If you live in Peterborough or Lakefield, we’ll leave your order on your doorstep! If you have any special delivery instructions, please include them in the notes on your order.

-We have also added a curbside pick-up option to our online store. If you select this option, we will contact you to arrange a pick-up time.

-Instead of offering free shipping on orders over $125, we have opted to offer flat rate shipping of $8 for everyone. This will smooth shipping costs so that everyone can have affordable shipping regardless of the size of their order. The Xpresspost option will be at the calculated rate based on size and weight of the package.

To keep everyone’s spirits up, stay tuned for a Virtual Knit Along! We’ll be announcing all of the details tomorrow.

Your local knitting enabler,

-Deanna

Glad to see that the website is going to be up and running. I hope to get organized to participate in the Calm Comfort knit along.

All of you do a wonderful job of supporting the knitting community. Be safe and keep knitting. I know that sitting for a few minutes and knitting a few rounds calms me down.

All the best.

Kim

Well done Deanna. You are making the most of a bad situation. I am at home, reading, cleaning, knitting, yes knitting. I imagine lots of us are doing that more than ever, and hopefully shopping online to keep new projects started will be the norm. I have finished two sleeves of my sweater and six inches of the back of it, and its going well I think. Look forward to shopping soon as I have two balls of yarn for a double double shawl I want to finish once I get the sweater done. And I have the idea to knit a second sweater assuming this one fits. I like the pattern I saw in the ‘purple’ cashmere sweater one of the ‘group at Knit Doctor’ was wearing. I want to knit it in a multitude of cotton yarns, PK equivalent weight. I wish you continued business success, and like you hope the self-isolation we are all doing will be a success at defeating the C19 virus pandemic. Thanks for being there.
