Brooklyn Tweed Comes to Town
Hello fibre friends, Deanna here, and I have some exciting news to share.
In celebration of my one year anniversary of buying the shop, I wanted to do something special. Many of us love Brooklyn Tweed designs and have been knitting their patterns with substitutes while admiring their yarns from afar. Now the pining can come to an end because Needles in the Hay will be 3rd in Ontario to become a Brooklyn Tweed destination shop!
You may be asking yourself, what exactly does this mean? Well, I'm pleased to report that we will be stocking all five Brooklyn Tweed Yarns: Quarry, Shelter, Arbor, Loft and Vale, in a wide colour selection. We'll also be carrying all of their printed books, and a selection of the best selling pattern leaflets.
We've decided to put our faith in Brooklyn Tweed because we believe in their "Sheep to Skein" philosophy. We share the same passion for wool as the team at Brooklyn Tweed who's mission is to develop and manufacture breed-specific yarns that support domestic textile production—designing, sourcing, dyeing and spinning their yarns within the USA. The yarn combined with their high-quality, sophisticated knitwear patterns is a match made in fibre heaven.
You may have noticed that we're pretty much stocked to capacity these days. To make room we'll be doing a renovation to the shop and building floor to ceiling shelves on the yarn wall. We'll have to close the shop for a few days to make this happen.
Please note that Needles in the Hay will be closed for renovations September 24 to 29. The Brioche 1 class is still on, we'll just be doing it next door at Watson & Lou.
So pop by this coming week to stock up for your projects! We will still be fulfilling online orders while we're closed just in case you're in a pinch.
September 30th will be the launch date for Brooklyn Tweed and the big reveal for our renovations! We're planning a few fun things so stay tuned for more info.
Oh and don't worry - just because we're bringing in A LOT of BT yarns doesn't mean that we'll stop carrying your favourites. Sweet Georgia, Indigodragonly, Malabrigo, The Fibre Co., Briggs & Little. Cascade and more will all still be sticking around.
