Deanna’s picks

Forge
Hudson + West Co’s worsted weight, Forge, is my favorite new yarn at the shop this year. Softness with durability, amazing stitch definition, Lightweight texture. These are just a few of the reasons you should give Forge a try. One skein is enough to knit a hat. I suggest trying the Rhett pattern by Meghan Babin. It has a generous squishy folded brim with a classic cable motif.

Cast-on Counting Stitch Marker Set
Have you ever had to cast on a zillion stitches for a shawl or a bottom-up sweater? It sure can be a real pain in the butt to keep track of them. These cast on counting stitch markers from Katrinkles allow you to keep track as you go. No more counting them all at once at the end and losing track.

Everyday Makers Tote
Emerance from Stoney Lake textiles puts so much love into hand crafting these everyday makers totes. No detail has been overlooked. The round waxed canvas bottom stands up straight and resists getting dirty. It’s the perfect size for versatility and will easily hold most projects and publications – everything up to a medium weight sweater. Not to mention the fabric choices are gorgeous.

Sweet Georgia Advent Calendar
You can never go wrong with Sweet Georgia. This year they've gone out on a limb and made their advent calendar a complete mystery. It comes with one entire skein of tough love sock, 15 mini skeins in their cashluxe spark, 8 knitting accessories and 3 different pattern options geared towards intermediate level knitters and crocheters. Take a leap of faith and give this Advent calendar a try!  I'm sure you'll love it. The feedback so far from our clients has been really positive.

Grace’s Picks

Brittany Crochet Hooks are still my go to. I Love how they are made by a family business, and the deep hook make them a delight to work with.

Scissors and darning needle sets are my go-to gifts for my fibre friends. Beautiful tools that are a joy to use.

The Fibre Co. Road the China Light. Whenever I am having a hard day, I tidy up the Road to China cube. When people want to touch something soft it is where I head. A great yarn to cozy around your neck or use as a lining inside mitts.

Sarah’s Picks

West Yorkshire Spinners Christmas Sock yarn:
Like Christmas, this yarn comes but once a year, and in all the colours and sparkle of the holiday season. A beautiful british Bluefaced Leicester yarn, the finished sock develops a lovely sheen to it, And though I'd consider it to be on the finer side of sock yarns - I'd use no higher than a 2.5mm needle on your socks - the wool itself is strong and incredibly soft. Just lovely for someone's feet on a crisp yuletide morning!

Socks Rule Sock Ruler:

Honestly, a total game changer for me. I love knitting socks, and I knit a lot of socks for other people. This thing is idiot proof and takes away all that fussy measuring you have to do when you're making a sock that's not for you.

Leo and Roxy Super Bulky: Oh, you need an amazing, super quick project for someone because you forgot to get them a gift? Buy one of these bad boys, put on your favourite movie, cast on, and by the time the credits are rolling you'll have yourself a hat. Perfect for last-minute gifts, and no one will know it only took you an hour and a half. And don’t forget to top it with a faux fur pom pom!

Seeknit bamboo needles: Lightweight, beautiful, strong and they come with their own case, eliminating all the grief and disorganization that can come with circular needles.
