Manos Cardo is our New Favourite Bulky

Manos Cardo is our New Favourite Bulky

Manos de Uruguay’s new yarn for fall is Cardo! You may have already seen it featured on the cover of Vogue Knitting Magazine.

Cardo is a squishy and bulky four ply yarn made from 100% Uruguayan Corriedale wool in a rich autumnal colour palette. We love this wool because of its long and strong fibres which have a ton of shine and bouncy crimp. We’re talking excellent stitch definition here, and a knitted fabric that will hold its shape very nicely.

Because of its classic four ply construction, Cardo feels familiar and true. It gives us a comforting vintage vibe, cozy like a warm cup of tea. Perfect for beloved heirloom projects.

The perfect sweater yarn, Cardo knits up fast and does a great job showing off all of the love you put into those textured and cabled stitches. It's also toothy enough to be ideal for colourwork, round and squishy enough for brioche, and warm and cozy enough for hats, cowls, mittens and blankets.

Cardo also makes a great substitute for a lot of popular bulky yarns.

- Love the look of Alafosslopi yoke sweaters but find them too itchy? Cardo.

-*Tried Quarry and it isn’t your cup of tea? Cardo
*for the record I think Quarry is amazing.

-Like Lion Brand Wool Ease Chunky patterns but prefer natural fibres? Cardo
