Hudson + West is a new yarn company dedicated to bringing innovative American-made yarns to the handknitting market, along with modern and wearable designs that highlight those yarns’ best qualities.
Designer-driven and knitter-focused, Hudson + West is about making yarns that you’ll want to return to over and over. They create yarns that support the ready-to-wear inspired garments and accessories that form the core of the modern knitter’s wardrobe. And they source and produce our yarns in the U.S., using a traceable, sustainable, and fair supply chain.
Forge is made from a heathered blend of 70% U.S. Merino wool sourced in Colorado and New Mexico, and 30% U.S. Corriedale wool sourced in New York. Forge is a round, well-balanced three-ply yarn. It has a beautiful balance of stitch definition, bounce, and wooly, cohesive bloom that produces both beautiful stockinette fabrics and eye-popping cables. Forge is fabulous in sweaters, hats, mitts, cowls, and even large-format shawls, and knits up happily on needles in the US 6 - 8 (4.00 mm to 5.00 mm) range.
