Beginner Knitting Refresher offers a little something for everyone.  It's great for beginner knitters ready to take the next step forward, but need a bit of support.

It's great for knitters who put their needles down a long time ago, and want to pick them up again.

It's great for knitters who are flat-out stumped on a work in progress and need a bit of help getting over that bump.

In this three-hour class we'll learn how to do a long-tail cast on and go over common increases and decreases. We will learn how to walk back our stitches, and pick up dropped stitches. We will answer questions specific to that perplexing project, and figure out how you can move forward!

No project to bring? No problem! Students will be provided with a free hat pattern in worsted weight yarn-you'll just need to bring the wool and needles!

Pre-requisites: you used to be able to knit and purl in a previous life. If you’ve never knit before, please register for the absolute beginner knitter course.

Materials: Bring or buy some worsted weight yarn and 5 mm needles to practice casting on and off and the basic stitches. If you have a project that you’ve had your eye on and want a little help getting started on it, feel free to bring the pattern and yarn to the class. Don’t have a pattern in mind? How about the Barley hat from TinCan knits? It’s a free hat pattern in worsted weight. Make sure you download or print it out beforehand and bring all materials with you!
