This three-hour class is tailored to the students in it - come and learn what you want to learn, get your questions answered and build on your basic knitting skill set.

If you’ve gone through our Absolute Beginner class and aren’t sure what's next, this is the class for you. Students are welcome to bring their own pattern, and if you don’t have one in mind that’s no problem! We recommend the Barley Hat by Tin Can Knits. This adorable hat is a fun knit and a great way to learn how to do a long-tail cast on, knit in the round and read both your knitting and a pattern!

This session is also great for those who used to knit, put their needles down a few years ago, and never picked them back up. This session will refresh your memory and your knitting skills, and hopefully remind you of why you picked up knitting in the first place!

The class also covers basic skills like picking up dropped stitches, basic decreases, what you should have in your project bag, label reading and blocking basics. There is also ample time to answer any questions about anything knitting-related.

More experienced knitters who are currently struggling with a project can also benefit from this class. Bring your work with you for a little trouble-shooting and some coaching. We can help get you back on track!

Students bring their own supplies to the class. If you’re unsure of what you need please just reach out by emailing us or stopping by the store to ask. Please make sure your yarn is wound and your pattern is printed before the class begins. We also recommend bringing some waste yarn if possible, so you can practice any new skills with that before trying it out with your project yarn.

Please note that while we do go over some new skills, more advanced knitters looking to hone their technique in one specific area should explore our more in-depth workshops and classes (ie, Introduction to Cabling Techniques, Introduction to Sock Knitting and Finishing Techniques).

This is not a class for those who have never knit before. Anyone who wants to learn how to knit right from the beginning should sign up for the Absolute Beginner Knitter class first.
